Bright Futures Early Learning Centre in Geelong needed to replace their aging playground surface with a safe, colourful option that met Australian safety standards AS 4422. The existing surface had degraded over time and no longer provided adequate fall protection for children playing on the 1.5m high climbing equipment.
We installed 60mm thick EPDM wet pour rubber flooring with a custom design featuring vibrant blue, green, and yellow zones. The EPDM material provides superior UV resistance essential for Geelong's coastal climate, while the 60mm thickness ensures critical fall height protection to 2.4 metres - well above the equipment's requirements.
The installation was completed within 3 days, minimising disruption to the centre's operations. The new surface passed independent safety testing with flying colours and has received glowing feedback from parents. Six months later, the colours remain vibrant and the surface shows zero signs of wear despite daily use by 60+ children.
