A private equestrian property in the Yarra Valley was dealing with horses developing leg fatigue and joint stress from standing on hard concrete stable floors. The owner also struggled with drainage issues during wash-down and the slippery surface posed a safety risk.
We installed 30mm thick porous SBR rubber matting in 6 stable bays (8m² each). The porous design allows liquid to drain through while the rubber provides cushioned support for horses' legs. The textured surface ensures excellent grip even when wet.
Within weeks, the owner noticed her horses were more relaxed and willing to stand in their stables. A visiting equine vet commented positively on the improved flooring. The drainage is excellent - wash water flows through easily and the stables dry within hours rather than days.
“My horses are so much happier now. They used to pace constantly on the concrete but now they're content to rest on the rubber. I should have done this years ago.”
